On arrival at Nepal’s one and only International airport known as ‘Tribhuvan’ where our staff and guide will receive you with warm welcome with garland, and then transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu in Thamel area or near about. After getting refreshed from the flight, our guide will brief with information regarding trekking Around Helambu, includes norms do’s and don’ts with evening group dinner in a pleasant Nepalese restaurant with culture shows as entertainment.

A free day in Kathmandu, where you will join an exciting sightseeing tour led by our city guide, showcasing the wonders of ancient history and the Nepalese way of traditional life. Kathmandu city, like Swyambhu, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath stupa, and Patan Durbar Square. Steeped in World Heritage Sites, our half-day lasts 3-4 hours with lunch breaks, then back to your hotel. Afternoon preparation for the next day’s treks around Helambu.
A pleasant short drive in the morning after leaving your hotel leads you to north east rim of Kathmandu valley with an hour drive to reach at Sundarijal a small town, where our walk begins heading for a climb into lovely cool forest within water shade which supplies to Kathmandu as Sundarijal means beautiful water with cascading waterfalls and dams. As the walk progress entering into Shivapuri and Langtang National Park area and then with further climb into farm land and serene forest to reach a cool hill top at Chisapani located at the height of 2,300 m high offering tremendous views of mountains from Annapurna-Manaslu-Ganesh-Langtang towards Jugal Himal range with stunning sunrise and sunset views.

After a pleasant morning catching the views of sunrise over chain of peaks, walk leads to a gradual descend to Patti-Bhanjyang, a nice Hindu village with grand views of surrounding green landscapes with short stop walk continues with uphill climb to reach a long ridge into alpine cool forest of tall rhododendron-pines-oaks-magnolia and fir tree lines. Walk leads further up past several farm villages to reach at Gul Bhanjyang located on a ridge top mostly populated by Tamang tribe of people.
Morning with views of dramatic country of rolling hills and snowcapped peaks, starting our walk with a climb and then with short downhill to Chipplin village, as the walk leads past small farm villages within beautiful scenery till the day completes on reaching at Kutumsang, a mixed village populated with Sherpa-Hyalmo and Tamang a hill ethnic tribes of Nepal Himalaya, this village offers superb views of snowcapped peaks of Ganesh-Langtang and Jugal Himal, afternoon at leisure and explore this nice interesting village with scenic views.
From Kutumsang with a pleasant overnight, morning starts with a climb over Yurin Danda Hill, entering into the cool shade of rhododendron, pines, and oak tree forest, as the walk leads to a small pass above 3,510 meters, and then takes a short descent reaching an open wide area at Mangegoth. After a rest to enjoy the surrounding views, the walk leads to a short climb where our route diverts from the main trail that joins Langtang and Gosainkund area with Helambu. As the walk leaves Gosainkund and Kathmandu trail, heading high, reaching Thadepati, the highest spot of the trek at 3,597, rewards you with wonderful views of Manaslu-Ganesh-Langtang and Jugal Himal range. At Thadepati, arriving in the afternoon for lunch and an overnight stop in this lovely small village on the route to Helambu.
With nice lovely morning with views walk starts towards a long descend into dense rhododendron, hemlocks, firs and pines tree lines forest for few hours, walk continue further passing many Yak herders temporary settlements to reach at Melamchi Khola (stream), on crossing with a climb to reach at pretty looking village at Malemchigaon for overnight stop. A typical mountain village of Buddhist religion and traditions where Hyalmo, the main tribe of dominates from here onwards, afternoon explore this nice village with houses decorated with beautiful carvings.
Another short day walk to reach main hub of Helambu at Tarkye Gyang, morning starts with downhill to Melamchi River and around farm village, crossing over a bridge and then climb above for an hour to complete the day’s walk at Tarkye Gyang village for lunch and overnight stop. Tarkye Gyang, famous for its immense and interesting Buddhist religion and culture where you can witness wood carving and this place is also famous for delicious green apples. Afternoon free to explore this lovely village and its old monastery Ama Yangri perched on top of the village.
Morning leaving Takye Gyang village with wonderful time, morning leads downhill through cool forest trail passing many chhorten (Buddhist prayer monuments), summer meadows to reach at Gangyul a small farm village, from here follow the path with views of rolling hills then reaching at Shermathang for overnight stop, another lovely village around Helambu.
After a memorable and pleasant time around Helambu villages within its pristine natural backdrop, our continue journey continues with few hour walk downhill to Melamchi town and a bazaar for the drive back to Kathmandu. Few hours of pleasant drive brings you into hustle and bustle of city life of Kathmandu after a wonderful time on high hills of Mid East Himalaya.

Helambu trek is considered as easy trek near Kathmandu. It does not involve extreme altitudes or technical climbing, making it suitable for beginners and aged people who wish to some adventure in Nepal.
Typically, Healmbu Trek takes 3 to 8 days, depending on your pace and the route you choose. Many Itineraries start near Kathmandu and loop through villages like Tarke-Gyang.
The highest point is around 3,600 meters, Tharepati. This reduces the risk of severe altitude sickness compared to higher treks.
For the Helambu Trek Guide is not compulsory, but it is extremely recommended for direction and path finding, and cultural insights. Porter is optional but very helpful if you want a comfortable and luxurious trek.
Normally, you need two permits: the Shivapuri National Park permit and the Langtang National Park permit. Sometimes they may ask for TIMS also better if you can have these three papers.
Basically, Nepal Have tow major seasons for trekking and peak climbing. Spring, from March to June, and Autumn, from September to November, but you can plan the Helambu trek the whole year around.
