Starting our Dhampus Sarangkot hiking taking a short drive from Pokhara to its trekking point at Phedi (bottom of the hill). Similarly, walking goes uphill into farmland with nice tended terraces like rice, corn, Millet, Wheat, and other agricultural things. Many scattered villages to reach on top of a ridge where Dhampus village located at the height 1, 530 m.

Sarangkot sunrise alone was worth the trip

Went into this expecting a fairly basic warm up hike and came away more impressed than i thought i’d be. Dhampus was quiet and slow paced in a good way, proper village life happening around us the whole afternoon. sarangkot the next morning is the reason to book this trip though, sunrise over the annapurna range with fishtail peak standing out clearly, worth setting an alarm for. phewa lake at the end gave us a relaxed half day in pokhara before heading back, nice contrast after two days on trail. would recommend this to anyone who assumes nepal trekking always means a huge commitment.

Good short trek if you’re beginner like I

Wasn’t sure a week would be enough to actually feel like i’d trekked anything, but Sarangkot changed my mind on that pretty fast. we got up stupid early, still half asleep walking up in the dark, and then the light just started doing its thing over the Annapurna range, fishtail peak specifically. didn’t expect to care that much about a mountain i couldn’t even name properly beforehand. Dhampus the day before was quieter, less dramatic, mostly just walking through fields and saying hello to people, which i actually needed after the flight and the drive. ended up sitting by Phewa Lake for way longer than planned on the last day, wasn’t in a rush to leave. good trip for someone who wanted a real taste of it without disappearing for two weeks.

Almost missed sarangkot sunrise messing with my camera

Picked this trek because i only had a week in Nepal and wanted something manageable, and honestly it was perfect. Dhampus village on day 3 was such a gentle intro, terraced fields, annapurna range peeking through clouds most of the afternoon. Sarangkot sunrise the next morning though, that’s the moment everyone talks about and it’s earned, fishtail mountain lighting up gold while the whole valley wakes up below you. walking down to Phewa lake after felt like a totally different pace, boats, cafes, actual relaxation after days of trekking. short trip but it hit every note i wanted from Nepal.

Itinerary for Dhampus Sarangkot Hiking

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel

Duration : 0.5 hrs to Reach Hotel Elevation : 1,370 m

Welcome to the city of temples and the country of Himalayas. we will happily welcome you at the only international airport of Nepal; Tribhuvan International Airport. Our airport representative will be waiting for your arrival with a placard written Nepal Holiday trip board or with your Name just outside the airport terminal. From there you will be transferred to the Hotel by a air conditioned private vehicle. Depending on the flight time and activities we will be joining for a cultural dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant. Enjoy cultural shows, singing, dancing and typical Nepali meals before heading back to hotel.

Day 02

Drive to Pokhara by Tourist Bus

Duration : 7 hrs Elevation : 830 m

After breakfast, you will head off to Pokhara by tourist bus along the Prithivi Highway. It takes 7 hours. Transfer to the hotel for refreshment and walk around Lake Site area in the evening and explore Phewa Lake, one of the beautiful lake in Pokhara city. Overnight at hotel inclusive of breakfast.

Day 03

Drive to Phedi and Trek to Dhampus

Duration : 3-4 hrs Elevation : 1,750 m

After breakfast, you head off to Phedi in a private taxi or jeep for half an hour and then begin your real trek by ascending to Dhampus for 2 hours. On the way, you pass through beautiful terraced fields, hamlets, and lush forest. after reaching in Dhampus you will surrounded by Annapurna Himalaya,Overnight at hotel inclusive three time food like breakfast Lunch and dinner.

Day 04

Trek to Sarangkot

Duration : 4 hrs Elevation : 1,590 m

Today’s trek, you start after taking your breakfast. The trekking trail passes through paddy fields, magnificent hills, middle landscapes and showcases the beautiful view of the Himalayan ranges. You reach Sarangkot, one of the Nepal’s best sunrise and sunset view point from where you can see a breathtaking view of Annapurna (8,091m.), Dhaulagiri (8,167m.), Ganesh Himal (7,446m.), Manaslu (8,165m.), Machhapuchhre (6,993m.) and others. In addition, you also see a nice view of Pokhara city.Overnight at hotel inclusive of all meals.

Day 05

Trek to Bank of Phewa lake and Half Day Pokhara City Sightseeing

Duration : 2- 3 hrs trek Elevation : 830 m

You head off to Sarangkot before the down to see a magnificent view of sunrise and from there, you trek downhill to Pokhara, the city of lakes. You will take 2 to 3 hours. In Pokhara, you will walk on the bank of the Phewa Lake. You will do boating, visit David fall, Mahendra cave and then go to a hotel.Overnight at hotel inclusive lunch and breakfast.

Day 06

Drive Back to Kathmandu

Duration : 6-7 hrs Elevation : 1,370 m

After your breakfast, you will drive for 6 hours along the bank of the Trishuli river. And then transfer to hotel for the refreshment. You will have farewell dinner in the evening.Overnight at lodge inclusive dinner and breakfast.

Departure to The International Airport

Duration : 0.5 hrs to Reach Airport Elevation : 1,370 m
