Founder and Managing Director
Dhruba Bhatta, the Founder and Managing Director of Nepal Holiday Trip, stepped into mountain tourism in 2005. Coming from a humble family of farmers, he grew up in the mountain area of Gorkha District. Climbing hills was an everyday affair, and each day he had to walk Several kilometres to get to his lower-level school to reach higher Secondary School. When he saw trekking guides from his village leading large groups of tourists across the Mountainous trails, he wanted to be like them.
Beginning his Journey in the Tourism Industry as a humble Porter at first. Next, his friends suggest him to take guide training from the Nepal Tourism Board, and then he upgraded to a mountain guide. He has come a long way in a career spanning more than two decades; he has achieved more than what he dreamed of achieving. Along with his professional achievements, his selfless contributions towards his community and society have won him a lot of honours and tributes.
His philanthropic projects include employment schemes for retired porters and guides, and financial support to build the school buildings. He is a story of true grit, determination, and passion. So, one of the motivate everybody involved not only in the tourism part but in all scopes of life. Having dedicated more than two decades of his professional life at adventure and travel company, working in different capacities, he has amassed experience. After passing high school, he came to Kathmandu and began helping out some trekking companies and was recruited as a porter Guide at the Travel Company. Within a short period of time, he was individually guiding clients across the well-known trails of the Himalayas. Dhruba Bhatta’s excellent communication and people skills led him to become one of the most popular guides. He went on to lead tour groups on multi-country tours to Nepal, Tibet, Mount Kailash, Bhutan, and India. Local company being a part of peak Climbing Expeditions, familiarized him with expedition logistics and operations. Later on, he became an Executive Director of Nepal Holiday Trip. He operates the sales and marketing departments, spending more than twenty years in the tourism field, and made Dhruba Bhatta a destination of choice.
The founding of Third Rock Adventures is a milestone in his career with the establishment of this company. He hopes to provide an inspiring travel experience to all types of travellers from all over the world.
