Mardi Himal Trek Route

Mardi Himal Is a challenging and beautiful 4-5 day trek in an Annapurna region that offers a breathtaking view of the Himalaya ranges of Annapurna, Fishtail, and many other peaks. The Mardi Himal Trek route starts from Phedi or the Australian camp. Then heading up to Pothana, Deurali, and heading up to forest camp. After forest Camp, the route headed gradually up to Mardi Himal Base camp and High camp. The last Destination is Mardi Himal High camp. Then walk back to forest camp and if you want to do someday more trekking walk up to Ghandrung or head up to Annapurna Base camp too.

Mardi Himal Trek from Pokhara
Mardi Himal Trek from Pokhara is more close and short in distance. Mardi Himal Trekking starts from Kande after almost one hour’s drive from Pokhara. The trail is the forest and terrace of the field. First slowly up, then a bit Steeper to Australian Camp 2060m. After that slightly downhill to Pothana 1950m then up again to reach Deurali 2100m. there is a right turn in Deurali signposted “Forest Camp” the trail is through Jungle, at first up then undulating on the top of the ridge, there is a section just over half the trail drops steeply and slowly gains height then back to the ridge and in to into camp 2600m.
The trail is initially quite steep leaving forest camp but soon gets less steep as you again get up on the ridge. The Trail leaves Low Camp again in the Jungle. The trees soon start to get smaller and after about one-hour trekking broke out of the jungle and onto the open ridge of panoramic views of Machhapuchhre ahead and Annapurna South to your left. It is possible to continue trekking along the ridge for another 4 to 5 hours to Mardi Himal Base camp 4,500m and return to High camp. Today will be a long day but there is also a viewpoint about halfway, the imaging view can be from here. After that trek down to Siding via Low Camp. From the siding, you will be driven back to Pokhara.

How long is the Mardi Himal Trek?

The Mardi Himal trek package will be 4 to 8 days from Pokhara to Pokhara and 2 other days for the Kathmandu drive-in or out. The Time for Mardi Himal trekking is depending on the time you have and the level of your physical Fitness. Normally, this trek takes 4 days for fast-walking people. If you are slow walking, it will take 7 days to complete. It is very easy and best to do within 7 days for his trek.

We will pick you up from Airport and take you to the hotel. Around evening 5 pm we will introduce a guide and give a trek brief. prepare for the trekking and check your trekking gear.
Today, if you are taking a bus to Pokhara you should leave your hotel at 6:15 am. The bus leaves at 7 o'clock from the Tourist bus station. it takes 7 hours to reach Pokhara, and they will stop 3 times on the way. it is about 200 km. Overnight at Pokhara. Bed and Breakfast is included
The trek starts Today, after breakfast in Pokhara you will take a car to Phedi and walk up to Dhampus, continue to Pothana and reach Deurali. there will be a checkpoint of TIMS and Permit. overnight at Deurali and All provided Packages available. it means all include Accommodation, Lunch, Dinner, and Breakfast.
Our Trek continues from Forest Camp or Deurali to Low Camp through the forest however as we ascend the vegetation starts to change with more rhododendron and the trees are covered with moss, lichen, and tree ferns. At Low Camp, there are two basic lodges one with a dining room with an open fire. overnight at Low Camp and it includes Accommodation, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
An hour or so above Low Camp the trail breaks out above a tree line and towards the west, with a good view of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. The trail continues along the Mardi Himal ridge mainly on grass with some isolated rhododendron bushes along the way. Look out for the colorful Danphe pheasant on this section of the trail. The lodge at High Camp is larger than the lodges at Low Camp and Forest Camp, this one has eight rooms and a separate dining room with a heater. overnight at High Camp. It includes Accommodation, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
The plan for today is to wake early for a sunrise view of the mountains and then walk up the ridge towards Mardi Himal Base Camp after an early breakfast. There is a well-established trail through the grass with a few steeper sections however overall not too challenging. Look out for the dzokpo (yak/ cow crossbreds) grazing up here and the Danphe pheasant. In the summer the sheep and goats from lower villages are brought up to graze in this area so you will pass a number of herder’s huts along the way. After three hours you should reach Base Camp at an elevation of 4500m this is where one can look into the Annapurna Sanctuary and the panorama view is spectacular looking at the south face of Annapurna and all of the peaks in the Sanctuary as well as Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Overnight at Low Camp includes Accommodation, Breakfast, lunch, and Dinner
On the way back we take a different route so completing a circuit, from Low Camp there is a trail that goes down to Siding village rather than going back down Mardi Himal back to Kokar. Siding is a traditional Nepalese village and still very much away from the busier modern tourist treks and it is likely you will stay at a homestay in Siding owned by the person who runs one of the lodges at Low Camp. overnight at Siding Village Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Today it will take 3 hours to take a taxi to come back to Pokhara, it is a very friendly and pleasant walk, then take a cab and drive back to Pokhara. overnight at Pokhara with a Bed and Breakfast Plan.
Around a 7/8 hour drive to get back to Kathmandu. the road is quite bumpy. if you think differently it will be better to take the one-way drive and one flight will be a good experience, but the flight cost is more expensive. overnight at Kathmandu with B.b plan
