Langtang Gosainkunda pass Trek is a journey of a lifetime adventure and well worth experience. Where you will enjoy its impressive views and ancient culture of Tamang people in the harmony. Local traditional villages in the backdrop of high Central Himalaya within Langtang Himal.

Adventure Langtang Gosainkunda pass Trek commence with exciting overland journey to reach high scenic alpine country within Nepal’s second largest Langtang National Park the first Park ever to be established around Himalaya in early 1976 with an area of 1,710 sq. km.

Gosainkund pass Trek, leads you to enchanting woodland covered in tall rhododendron-magnolia-pines-oaks-hemlocks and fir tree lines with thick bamboo groves where you can often spot rare and endangered elusive Red Panda with other wild animals and exotic bird life.

Walk starts from the village at Syabrubesi after an interesting drive from Kathmandu, where our route leads first into a magnificent Langtang valley at Kyanjin Gompa where you be encircled with high capped mountains of Langtang himal and Jugal Himal range.

Our next adventure leads you to high and holy lake Gosainkund a sacred glacial pond. Gosain kunda Pass Trek visit thousands of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims visits on auspicious month of the year for a dip in the holy pond. From here our journey leads to scenic Gosainkunda pass at 4,609 m / 15,297 ft high also called as East Laurabina pass.

From here on easy and enjoyable walks to reach at the eastern northern rim of Kathmandu valley past nice and lovely villages with constant views of snow capped peaks with stunning sunrise from Chisapani as the walk brings you at Sundarijal on the road head to Kathmandu, after concluding a memorable and fascinating adventure of a lifetime experience on Langtang himal pass Trekking.

Itinerary

On arrival at Nepal's one and only International airport known as 'Tribhuvan' where our staff and guide will receive you with warm welcome with garland, and then transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu in Thamel area or near about. After getting refreshed from the flight, our guide will brief with information regarding Langtang Himal & Gosainkund-La pass Trekking, includes norms do's and don'ts with evening group dinner in a pleasant Nepalese restaurant with culture shows as entertainment.
Today your Journey Start early morning with an interesting overland journey towards North West from Kathmandu on winding uphill towards cooler green high hills to enter into Langtang region at Dhunche, the headquarter town of Rasuwa within Langtang Himal area, in the country habitants of mostly Tamang people an ethnic Hill tribe of Central Nepal. Dhunche, a scenic town offers view of Ganesh and Langtang Himal as far towards Jugal Himal range towards east. From here downhill to Syabrubesi village, a nice Tamang village located within green hills and valley cooler climate includes views of snow-clad peaks.
First day walk from Syabrubesi starts with a climb after crossing a glacial river, uphill for a while on reaching a high ridge, rest of the walk is gradual on winding uphill path past farm fields and villages, as the trail descends and joins of upper Syabru near a Riverside and a place called Bamboo. Walk from here leads into cool forested area in a gorge following the torrential glacial Trisuli River upstream, as the path follows with a climb in the cool shade of rhododendron and oaks forest after a good walk of near six hours reaching a small clearing at Lama-Hotel for overnight stop.
From this small place within cool shade of alpine woodland, morning walk leads into a River gorge for few hours to Ghoretabela for lunch stop amidst lovely forest of pines, hemlocks and rhododendron from here onwards feel slow rise of high altitude. After a refreshing stop, journey continues to Langtang and its beautiful valley, walking for an hour on pleasant moderate path into cool shade of forest, on crossing a small stream leaving tree lines behind as our route climbs for an hour, and then walk on gradual pleasant trail with few short ups and down to reach our overnight stop in Langtang village. Afternoon time to explore the village which was badly damaged from April 25th and May 12th 2015 huge earthquake and avalanche, slowly the village is coming back into its normal life.
After refreshing overnight stop in Langtang village, morning walk leads to one of the main highlight destination at Kyanjin within beautiful and scenic Langtang valley, starting with short climb after an hour the gorge opens up into an exposed valley with magnificent scenery of giant peaks the circles you. Slowly walk proceeds for few hours encountering “mani-prayer wall” where walking clockwise is the right way respecting the local culture and religion of Buddhism, heading further east where tree lines fades for smaller alpine bush in this high country at above 3,749 m. Finally reaching our first destination at Kyanjin Gompa a marvelous scenic spot offers you with beautiful views of Langtang Lirung above 7,000 m high, with icefall a mere distance from your lodge at Kyanjin Gompa.
After a marvelous time at Kyanjing gompa and view from Kyanging Ri, morning walk leads back on same route to Lama-Hotel a small settlement situated in the middle of a dense green forest near upper Trisuli River. the path leads mostly down hill with rhododendron and pine forest.
Today walk leads to alternative route towards high and holy Gosainkund our next main destination of the adventure, morning walk leads on the same trail for an hour, on crossing bridge reaching into bamboo forest and at place called Bamboo as well with few Tea House and shops within a small clearing. From here climb uphill to reach a large landslide section with rocks and boulders, as the walk leads through farm fields and nice tended terraces to reach at Upper Syabru also called Thulo Syabru which means bigger, this nice Tamang village where houses are in row situated on a high ridge with a monastery.
Morning walk leads uphill on winding path above the monastery and then gaining more height overlooking fantastic views of Ganesh-Himal, Manaslu, Langtang and Annapurna range towards far west, after a few small stops on walks, journey carries on with uphill into cool shade of alpine forest and then slowly our route leads at Singh Gompa for overnight stop near its old monastery. Singh Gompa a small place with number of houses serving as lodge and Tea House with an old monastery at the top of the village, with times to visit its small Cheese factory this village also called as Chandanbari (Sandal Wood).
Trek today offers excellent views of Langtang towards north with Ganesh-Himal in the west includes views of Manaslu and Annapurna Himalaya range, walk starts with gentle up for an hour into forest covered with oaks, pines, firs, juniper and rhododendron tree lines. After short stops to admire the views, continue climb on leaving tree lines and green vegetation behind for dwarf rhododendron, juniper and alpine shrubs bushes. The trail leads to much uphill climb past few teahouses around Laurabina (a place where pilgrims leaves their sticks on auspicious time of August month and in full moon as from Nepalese Luna calendar, pilgrims visits Gosainkund pond for ritual bathe and a dip, the belief is that it delivers one into paradise and drink of its holy water relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes). From here a short descend and then up reaching Saraswati and Bhiarav kund and finally at holy Gosainkund near its pristine glacial pond, witness the site of pilgrims and the temple of Shiva near the shore of the sacred pond.
From Gosainkund morning lead on gentle path by the pond, and then climb to a small creek with water flowing from spring, regarded as holy water which comes in between rocks and boulders. Adventure leads by the small pond of Surjakund and from here with winding uphill to reach at high Gosainkund-La pass also called East Laurabina La the highest spot of the adventure at above 4,609 m / 15,297 ft high. Enjoying the views on the highest spot of the trek, and then journey leads to a long descend to reach at bottom known as Phedi with an height of 3,694 m, located with few teahouses, possible lunch stop and then continue our trek further east to near Helambu region and back into green vegetations and tall trees of junipers, rhododendron then reaching our overnight stop at Ghopte (means an overhanging rocks) after a long and wonderful trek of the day.
On being in serene country within complete wilderness, walk this morning joins the trail of Helambu and Kathmandu; as our route leads into lovely forest for an hour, and then an hour uphill to Thadepati at above 3,597 m high offering marvelous views of surrounding country with Jugal Himal range and Ganesh-Manaslu towards west. From here walks downhill to a small meadow at Mangeghot, a nice place with grassy field, as the trek leads you back into farm fields at Kutumsang for overnight stop, a village with Sherpa, Hyalmo and Tamang hill tribes.
if you have a short time we can catch the road to Kathmandu, but for longer trek, starting with long day walk to reach at scenic Chisapani, morning walk leads on winding path with few ups and downhill walks past rural farm villages then reaching at Gulbhanjyang located on a ridge top. After a short break continue on nice and pleasant path to Pati Bhanjayang village, from this village leads you with short climb to our last overnight stop at Chisapani, a nice and scenic small village which is close to north of Kathmandu Valley rim. A lovely spot rewards you with stunning sunrise views over range of peaks from Jugal Himal range towards north east and Ganesh Himal-Manaslu and Annapurna range towards west.
Our adventure with last day trekking completes today as the morning walk leads to enchanting forest and farmlands, few hours of gradual walks heading to a ridge top at Burlang and Chepu Bhanjyang of above 2,438 m high with excellent views of Kathmandu Valley. After a wonderful views descend to Sundarijal (meaning beautiful water) a beautiful and serene place within cool forest and fresh streams. Sundarijal, a small farm town from here drive back to Kathmandu after an enjoyable and great moment on Langtang & Gosainkund-La Pass trekking, our overland drive leads past Jhorpati and Bouddhanath following the busy road for some times and then back at your hotel in Kathmandu. Afternoon free at leisure for shopping souvenirs, evening farewell group dinner in a nice Nepalese restaurant with Folk dance programs as entertainment.
Last day in amazing Nepal with Himalaya wonders, depart from the hotel as per your international flight for homeward bound or to your next destination country, our staff transfer you bidding with farewell garland or Buddhist silk scarf 'Khada' for your safe and good journey.
