Best Time for Everest Base Camp Trek

The best time to Trek in Everest Base Camp (EBC) mostly depends on weather, visibility, and trail conditions. Nepal has two main trekking seasons in Nepal, Spring (March to May) and Fall (September to November), which are hardly considered the most perfect for this iconic trip.
Spring Season (March to May)
Nepal has one of the most popular and beautiful times to trek. The weather is stable, and temperatures are moderate. Rhododendrons and other wild flowers bloom along the trail and adding colour to the scenery. Clear skies provide excellent views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Thamserku, and surrounding peaks.
Temperature: 10 degrees to 20 degrees Celsius. Nighttime: temperature can drop below freezing at higher altitudes. Best for trekkers who enjoy warm weather, colourful landscapes, and a lively trekking atmosphere.
Autumn Season (September to November)
The most popular trekking season in Nepal. After post post-monsoon skies are crystal clear, offering the best mountain visibility. Comfortable daytime temperatures and dry trails make hiking easier. Perfect conditions for photography and panoramic mountain views.
Temperature:
Daytime 8 degrees to 20 degrees Celsius, and nighttime temperatures will be very cold, especially above 4 thousand meters. The best time for trekkers seeking the clearest views and stable weather in Nepal.
Winter Season (December to February)
Fewer trekkers on the trail, offering solitude and peace for hiking. The mountain views remain stunning and crystal clear. The Temperatures can be extremely cold, especially above 2 thousand meters, and Snow may close some trekking trails and high passes. The temperature drops to -15 degrees Celsius at night, and during the day it will be around 10 degrees Celsius at high altitude. Monsoon season trek will be best for experienced trekkers who can handle cold, snow, and want to less crowds.
Monsoon season (June to July)
The least popular Season due to frequent rain, clouds, and slippery trails. Flight delays to and from Lukla are common. However, this season brings lush greenery and wild flowers to the Lower regions. The temperature will be warm, 32 degrees Celsius in the lower lands and at high altitude, just perfect, around 5 degrees.
The conclusion of the trip is the best time to trek to Everest Base Camp is during spring and Autumn. These seasons offer the most stable weather, clear skies, and breathtaking views of the Himalayas. However, if you prefer quieter trails, you can choose winter trekking, or a monsoon season trek can also be a rewarding experience with proper preparation.
Note: if you choose an offseason trek, better to make a longer stay in Nepal due to the weather conditions for the flight to Lukla and back to Kathmandu.

experienced, excellent skills of everything and trustable.

I went to a travel agency in Katmandu in November 2003 and asked for a guide to guiding me for my trip to Namche bazaar and Everest View point. The next morning Dhruba Bhatta came to my hotel and took me to the airport. The flight to Lukla was delayed 6 hours and he cheered me up and checked the weather. I had very tight schedule and was afraid that the weather would be bad for several days, and that I had to drop the trekking I came for. When we came to Lukla in the afternoon, when we start to walk steep hills, he explain about everything like mountain, culture, religious conviction and many more…and after 4 hours walk we reached the planned lodge. He was very agreeable with food and blankets what we want in mountain, because there was no heating. Due to him my trekking in Himalaya was successful. He was a best guide and good friend after that trip to Nepal and we have communicated regularly. If some people wants to visit Nepal please take Dhruba Bhatta as a guide, he is so experienced, excellent skills of everything and trustable person. He always organizes all aspects of the treks easily and professionally
